This innovation is shaking up the agriculture industry which is rapidly evolving with new smart technologies.
The “Lollipop” is engineered to deliver periodic water and temperature information from the soil to the cloud. Multiple sensors detect if the roots have adequate water and optimum temperature. Based on this sensor data and weather input, the smart device decides whether or not to turn on the sprinkler. It saves 33% of water from being lost due to over-watering and makes sure that no plant goes under-watered.
This device is currently being used by the largest growers of sugar-cane in the country.
